Want to look Young in your 40's?

Grey Hair Transplant

Grey Hair Transplantation refers to procedure of grey (white) hair transplantation. Generally people of middle age or old age have to go through grey hair transplant. It is because due to their older age they possess more grey hair than the young men going through the hair transplant surgery. The activities followed in grey hair transplantation are similar to the activities followed in black hair transplantation, but still there exist few significant differences between the two. These differences arise from the technicalities that are involved in grey hair transplant which are not generally present in black hair transplantation.

These technicalities arise because of the few limitations associated with hair transplant in old men. These limitations include the following things:

  1. Poor Donor Area - In most of the cases, due to older age the baldness exist in its full strength. This makes the donor area poor due to consistent hair fall. This leaves the surgeon with a very small area to extract the graft from. In such cases it depends upon the artistic skills of the surgeon to extract maximum grafts from that poor donor area in such a way that no one can notice that something has been extracted out from that area.

  1. Low Donor Area Density - In hair transplant cases where the donor is poor as well as weak when comes to density, expert skills are required to extract the grafts in a balanced manner.

  1. Diseases Related to Old Age - In old age most of the people suffers from the diseases such as Cardiac diseases, Diabetes, Hypertension, High Blood Pressure etc. These diseases poses a challenge in front of the surgeon to perform the surgery with due care. The surgeon should ensure that the patient is protected from any sort of heath damage.

  1. White Graft and White Roots - The biggest challenge in front of the surgeons during a hair transplant surgery is extracting and placing the grafts with white roots. White roots are very difficult to be seen against the white background of hair tissue and scalp. Only an experienced surgeon can transplant these white root grafts successfully, that too if he is provided with the best machines, equipment and illumination.

Strategies followed by the Doctors at DHT for a successful Grey Hair Transplantation

Grey Hair Transplantation can be equally successful as the black hair transplantation only if the following strategies are followed.

  1. Dyeing the grey hair - In Grey Hair Transplantation the client has to dye his grey hair without dying the scalp. This will make the grey hair stand out as black, against the Grey Hair Transplantation background of the scalp skin.

  1. Assuring the best quality - A quality Grey Hair Transplantation can be done by the experts with the best quality equipment like Cole and Harris instruments, Carl Zeiss loupes for better magnification and Cool LED light for illumination, so that the white grafts with white root can be easily seen.

  1. Maximization of Donor Area - The poor donor area that is usually found in the case of Grey Hair Transplantation can be maximized by combining the two techniques FUT and FUE/DHT. The will provide the surgeon with the maximum possible grafts to implant.

  1. Construction of Hair line according to the age - In Grey Hair Transplantation when the hair line that is to be constructed, a lot of attention is paid that the line should not be too low to give an unnatural look. This is because generally the Grey Hair Transplantation patients are of older age and for older age patients the natural hair line is more towards top than the hair line of a young person. This strategy gives a natural look according to the age and saves the grafts as well for other areas.

All these measures help the patients with a successful Grey Hair Transplant and give them a younger look with immense confidence.
